Spring Imaging Update in Florence, Italy May 18-19, The Spring Imaging course in Florence will take place on May 18, (Course 2023). The course aims to enhance interpretation skills using the latest imaging technologies. Participants will learn evidence-based practice techniques and protocols for improved diagnostic accuracy in various applications.
By the end of the course, participants should be able to apply quality improvement strategies to increase efficiency, communication, and collaboration. They will also understand the fundamentals of advanced techniques in MRI, CT, and ultrasound and their current roles and limitations in clinical practice. The information presented in the course can be integrated into efforts to improve participants’ imaging skills. Additionally, participants will assess the current status and future applications of advanced breast imaging technologies.
The course is targeted towards practicing radiologists and radiologic nurses, physician assistants, technologists, scientists, residents, fellows, and others interested in advanced diagnostic imaging techniques and applications.
Here is an overview of the topics covered in the course:
– Session 1: Abdominal Imaging – Gabriela Gayer, MD
Time: 7:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Topics include deliberate and inadvertent retained surgical material, iatrogenic complications affecting the urinary tract, acute abdomen in the oncologic patient, abdominal wall masses, and post-operative abdomen.
– Session 2: Breast Imaging – Jessica W.T. Leung, MD, FACR, FSBI
Time: 1:30 PM – 5:45 PM
Topics include asymmetries and architectural distortions challenging mammographic signs, problem-solving breast MRI, biomarkers in breast imaging, and multimodality breast imaging.
– Session 3: Interventional Radiology – Stephen T. Kee, MD
Time: 7:00 AM – 12:15 PM
Topics include radioembolization for primary and metastatic liver cancer, embolization for knee osteoarthritis, liver transplant complications, prostate artery embolization, interventions in trauma, and imaging and interventions in aortic dissection.
– Session 4: Musculoskeletal Imaging – Kathryn Stevens, MD
Time: 1:15 PM – 5:45 PM
Topics include MRI of the elbow, wrist, hip (femoral acetabular impingement and beyond), and foot.
These sessions will take place in the Salone delle Feste Ballroom at The St Regis Florence. The day will start with a full American breakfast at the Westin Excelsior, which is included in the room reservation for participants and their guests. Registration and check-in will take place in front of the Salone delle Feste Ballroom at The St Regis Florence.
Throughout the day, there will be opportunities for questions and answers, as well as coffee service for participants. The schedule allows for breaks and discussions to enhance learning and engagement.
